Game rules
The following points apply to all game worlds.
If you think you have been blocked or banned unfairly, please contact the responsible Game Operator via the ticket system.
Please note that complaints and requests to do with the particulars of an account's data privacy can only be dealt via the owner of the account.
Accounts
In the account rules the following points are dealt with:
• registered accounts
• game accounts
Every player can only have one game account per world (the only exceptions being holiday replacement mode).
You only need to register once and then you can use this account to play on all worlds. You can register more than once if you like, but you can only have one account per world.
Access to the account
Only the owner has access to the account. If another person logs into an account, it will be classified and punished as multi account using, provided that the other player also has an account in this world. (Only exception is the holiday replacement function.)
Password
The password is linked to the account. Passing on your own password to another person is prohibited. If another person logs into the account, it will count as account sharing.
Account transfer
If an account is passed onto another player, support has to be informed about it and support's approval has to be obtained. There is no legal claim to an account transference. A transfer can only occur completely, individual worlds cannot be transferred. Please note that 'Crowns' are bound to an account. Thus they stay on the transferred account and can only be used by the new owner of the account.
Sharing internet connections
The game has a 'Share internet connection' function that is displayed in the profile under the same description. This function must be used by every person who knowingly uses the same network or the same computer as another player in the same world. Examples of shared networks are school networks, universities or work places.
While the 'Share internet connection' function is activated (and within the first 24 hours of deactivating the function) there are limits to how you can communicate with players in the same network: The players in question cannot interact. This includes coordinated attacks, resource deliveries, supporting troops and attacks on each other.
To prevent a ban, support should be informed before you play on a foreign network.
Any violations against the 'Share internet connection' function can result in temporary or permanent bans.
Examples
• Any profit gained from another account in the same network (whilst logging in at the same time and up to 24 hours afterwards) is forbidden.
• As soon as the 'share internet connection' function is activated, attacks on same targets is prohibited.
• You are allowed to support a third player with troops, as long as the player is not playing in the same network.
• You are not allowed to use a third account for intermediate storage to move resources back and forth between accounts that are sharing the same network.
• You are allowed to forward reports or messages to players in the same network.
Holiday replacement
Holiday replacement is a premium feature. It allows a player to sit the account of another player in accordance with the following rules:
The only way to have your account sitted, is to use the holiday replacement function. You cannot pass on passwords (see 1.2).
The minimum duration for holiday replacement is 2 days, the maximum duration is only limited by the run time of the premium account. If the premium account runs out, the holiday replacement mode will end and the account will automatically be put in sleep mode. The account will then be put in sleep mode for the maximum available time. If there is no remaining time available for the sleep mode, all actions that are relevant for the sleep mode (e.g. calling troops back) will be carried out.
If the holiday replacement mode has expired or been ended early by the player, you will have to wait 24 hours before the next holiday replacement can be activated. A premature cancellation carried out by the account holder is only possible after 48 hours at the earliest.
After finishing the holiday replacement mode, you cannot carry out any direct combat operations against each other. If the game team finds an account that is violating this rule, all accounts in question will be banned.
Examples
• The player with the sitted account and/or his own account can attack a player.
• The player is allowed to organise trades between his own and the sitted account.
• The player cannot directly attack the sitted account with his own account.
Bashing
This rule is not applicable in this country. Every settlement can be attacked as many times as the attacker deems necessary.
Pushing
It is prohibited to create accounts that only serve the purpose of giving other accounts an advantage (e.g. in form of additional resources or units). These accounts are treated as multi accounts and will be banned. If a player sends resources to an account without permission, he must immediately be reported to the corresponding Gameoperator via the ticket system.
Examples
• You are not allowed to use an account solely for sending other players resources.
• You are not allowed to use the holiday replacement function if the account holder does not play any more, to send other players resources or troops via the unused account.
• Every player should report unwanted resource deliveries to game support immediately. If this does not happen, you may be in danger of having your account banned.
• You are not allowed to receive resources from a player that has less points than you do.
Bugusing
A bug is an in-game error which could create unfair advantages for certain players. You cannot take advantage of these bugs. Should you become the victim of a bug, it is imperative that you notify a Game Operator.
Should you lose resources, troops, or other such in-game assets due to a bug, they will not be restored to you.
If a game account has been damaged by a bug or a ban, it is not possible to return said account to its previous state.
Bots and scripts
Please take note of the terms and conditions, item 5: 'Special terms and conditions for the use of online games' and all subsections from 5.1 to 5.7.
There are certain tools that are allowed. A list of permissible scripts can be found in the forum.
Should you be unsure whether a tool that you have is permissible or not, please contact support and send them the script.
If you have written your own script, please contact game support and ask if it is allowed before publishing it.
Contents
Insults, abuse, and all offensive messages are forbidden and anyone sending such messages will be punished.
Threats are only permissible if they relate exclusively to the game and have absolutely no connection to any other platform or to the private life of any players. Political, racial, pornographic or other illegal expression is not allowed on any KingsAge-related platform.
Gameforge reserves the right to block any player who does not understand or cannot express himself in the language of the domain on which he plays.
This applies as much to the game as it does to the official forum and the IRC channel.
These rules also apply to:
In-game messages, alliance pages and circular mail.
Please bear in mind that any misbehaviour in the game, in the forum, or on IRC can result in the temporary or permanent blocking of your account.
It is absolutely forbidden to spread immoral content in order to insult the integrity of a player or person. In-game moral boundaries are preserved and defended by the game team. Certain content may be censored, and the corresponding accounts temporarily or permanently blocked.
This rule also applies to In-game messages, profiles, nicknames, settlement names, alliance pages and circular mails.
Examples
• You are allowed to extort resources from other players.
• You are not allowed to blackmail players for 'Crowns' or other items that do not have anything to do with KingsAge's free offers.
• Insults or other objectionable messages are prohibited.
• Every attempt at accessing other players' passwords (phishing) is strictly prohibited and will be punished.
• You are not allowed to divulge political, racist or pornographic ideas in the game. This includes, for example, the player profile, alliance profile, nicknames and settlement names.
• Links that lead to 'warez' or pornographic pages are prohibited.
• Every player that insults others in the forum or in the IRC chat runs the risk of being banned in the game.
Spam
Any attempt to impede a player's view which prevents said player from normal play is not permitted.
This is also valid for:
• Spam via messages (IGM)
• Distribution of other games.
Settlement donation
Gifts can be made at any time, as long as the players do not share an internet connection (see 2.). At the same time, it is irrelevant whether the giver or the receiver has more points.
However, the following notes and restrictions should be taken into account:
• You are allowed to remove troops from the besieged settlement to alleviate the conquest.
• You are not allowed to use the troops from the settlement to be given away for an attack on a third party.
• Only the actual player of the account can carry out the gifting process.
• You cannot give away settlements in holiday mode.
• If a player does not wish to continue playing, he cannot put his account in holiday replacement mode and have his representative give settlements away for him.
• If an account is in holiday mode and the account's owner does not wish to continue playing, the representative has to release the account. The representative is not allowed to give away settlements beforehand or use them for a simple conquest.
Illegal sitting
So-called sitting is not allowed. 'Sitting' means that an account is played by a registered player as well as another person.
Abusing the holiday replacement function is also classified as illegal sitting (e.g. using replacements too often or using several minimum duration replacements after one another every 2 days).
Examples
• You are not allowed to pass your password onto other players. An account that is active even though the registered player is not online, will be banned (see 1.2).
• The holiday replacement mode is the only way you can have your account sitted (premium feature).
• Non-premium players can use sleep mode as a substitute for the replacement function.
